How Is a Breast Lift Surgery Performed?
Breast lift surgery is typically performed through an incision on the bottom of the breast (in the crease where the breast meets the torso) and around the areola. The breast tissue is reshaped higher on the chest wall to improve the breast contour. Internal sutures are placed to support the new breast contour. The areolas are reduced in size and downward-pointing nipples are corrected. Excess breast skin is removed and the remaining skin is tightened over the breast mound, usually with no horizontal scars under the breasts.
