How Is Blepharoplasty Performed?

During surgery, excess skin and fat are removed from the upper and/or lower eyelids. In upper blepharoplasty surgery, fat can be redistributed, and the muscles can be altered as needed to tighten the lids and restore a clear line of sight. In lower blepharoplasty surgery, under-eye bags are reduced and fine wrinkles around the eyelids are smoothed.

The surgical modifications are performed though tiny incisions in the natural creases of the upper lid and underneath the lower lash line to avoid visible scarring. How Is Earlobe Repair Performed?

The technique that is used for your earlobe repair depends on the type of damage to the tissues. If you have a torn earlobe, Dr. Mozaffari attaches the two sides together. For stretched or gauged earlobes, He removes excess tissue and closes the tissues. Your earlobes may not be the same size and shape as before the injury, but the lobes will have a natural contour and size that blends with your ears.

What Is Recovery Like After Earlobe Repair?

What is a Deep Plane Facelift?

The term Deep Plane describes the anatomic plane between muscles of facial expression and the muscle and facia complex called SMAS-platysma. As the name suggests, this facelift is done by influencing the movement of the deeper layers of fat and muscle tissue and less on pulling the skin. Releasing ligaments helps to keep the muscle movement free of tension and keeps the skin from tightening that is present with traditional facelifts.  Traditionally the skin of the face would be pulled more horizontally to flatten out the wrinkles. This impacted the corners of the mouth and the eyes as they were pulled and the face and the cheek looked flat. However, with deep plane facelift, the patient will have a more natural look with smooth features.  This is accomplished as angles of the lift are changed to be more vertical for maximum rejuvination. How Is a Facelift Performed?

Incisions are made along the hairline and around the ear. The tissue is pulled taut over the face to create a younger and natural appearance. Dr. Mozaffari may opt to tighten facial muscles and reposition fat during the procedure.

What Can I Expect During Recovery from My Facelift?

The initial recovery period for facelift typically takes two to three weeks. Initial symptoms should subside within two weeks after surgery, while minor swelling and bruising may last a bit longer but can easily be concealed with makeup. Most patients return to work and resume normal activities one to three weeks after surgery. How Can I Augment My Lips with Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers like Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Voluma® are a minimally invasive way to temporarily augment the lips. Fillers composed of biocompatible materials are injected into the lips to add volume and shape. The injections are quick, convenient and not painful. The results last several months. How Can I Augment My Lips with Fat Grafting?

Another minimally invasive lip augmentation surgery is through a technique called “dermal fat graft.” Excess fat and skin is extracted from an area of the body and grafted into the lips to enhance their shape and fullness. Since the patient’s own fat is used, there is very little chance of an adverse reaction. 

One drawback is that the body can naturally absorb some of the fat. How Is a Neck Lift Performed?

The procedural steps of a standard neck lift procedure vary, according to the patient’s specific needs. Typically, sagging fat is redistributed from the jowls back up to the cheek area to create a more attractive contour along the jawline. Excess skin is removed from the neck and the remaining skin is re-draped more tightly. How Is Rhinoplasty Surgery Performed?

To alter the size of the nose, Dr. Mozaffari can either remove cartilage or use a cartilage graft from another area of the face (e.g., septum) or body. He makes other improvements as needed to alter the shape and features of the nose. A bump may be smoothed, or the nostrils can be refined so they look more symmetrical or proportional.

Depending on the specific patient, Dr. Mozaffari may limit the incisions inside the nostrils, or add an extra incision across the small strip of skin separating the nostrils (called the columella), which leaves a barely noticeable scar.

What Can I Expect During Recovery from Rhinoplasty?

Your nose will be filled with a substance to hold the tissues in place. A splint is used on the outside of the nose. Bruising, swelling, and discomfort are common after rhinoplasty surgery.
